Welcome to The Wellness Collective – your ultimate destination for holistic fitness, well-being, and personal growth. Formerly known as The Natural Affinity Movement Studio, we have been a cornerstone of movement and wellness in Makhanda since 2011. Over the years, our dedication to excellence has led us to expand our offerings, partnerships, and instructor team, and we are now proudly operating out of two locations. 

Our primary studio, nestled in the heart of Rautenbach Road, is the epicenter of our wellness journey. This studio serves as a hub of holistic health, offering access to a diverse range of classes and the expertise of various holistic healers. 

Our secondary studio, nestled in the serene landscape of Stones Hill, just 5 km from town on the R67, is a haven for those seeking balance and strength. Here, you can experience the transformative power of mat and reformer Pilates, immerse yourself in the grace of Ashtanga and Hatha Yoga, or engage in personalized training sessions. As you work on your well-being, you’ll be treated to an unparalleled view of the Featherstone Valley, creating a peaceful and scenic backdrop for your journey.

 Our rebranding as The Wellness Collective reflects our commitment to inclusivity and community, encapsulated by our slogan: “Where every body has a home.” We are committed to creating a welcoming space for everyone, regardless of age, fitness level, or background.

As a fitness and health studio with two branches, the Stones Hill Studio and our primary Rautenbach Road location are dedicated to empowering you on your journey to better health.

Our expanded services now include yoga, Pilates, spinning, strength, and toning classes and workshops led by various health and energy practitioners based in our Rautenbach Road location. Our emphasis on quality sets us apart – we provide highly qualified instructors, intimate class sizes, and a nurturing studio environment where you can truly thrive.

YOGA

 

Astanga yoga (pronounced ush-tunguh) is a system of yoga transmitted to the modern world by Sri K. Pattabhi Jois (1915-2009). This method of yoga involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures – a process producing intense internal heat and a profuse, purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. The result is improved circulation, a light and strong body, and a calm mind. The practice consists of an opening series of sun salutes, a progression of standing asanas, seated asanas, and finally a finishing sequence including savasana (the meditation component of the practice). Astanga is suitable for all ages, shapes, and sizes and you are encouraged to work at your own pace and follow your own natural progression. Give it a try and let the pranayama flow! Namaste.

Pilates

The Pilates method, founded by Joseph Pilates, aims to enhance physical strength through precise coordination, breathing, and control. It targets core strength by isolating various muscle groups. This exercise system improves strength, endurance, and flexibility while promoting relaxation and stress relief. It fosters body awareness and control, positively impacting posture and precision in all activities. Pilates benefits rehab patients, athletes, and expectant mothers. Preggie Pilates, a safe exercise option for pregnant women, supports lumbar spine and pelvic floor health. It offers comfort and relaxation while connecting with fellow expectant moms. Spin class

Strength

We have revolutionized traditional strength training by introducing a unique approach that utilizes less than 3kg weights, focusing on holistic well-being, mobility, and functional movement, all while keeping the impact on your body low.

Our expert instructors are dedicated to helping you build a strong foundation that extends beyond just muscle mass.
